UPDATED:
We have had the Arcam AVR-360 setup and running for few days now and all I can say is WOW it is amazing. I don't know how they have managed to pack in so much at this price point. This is a truly high end receiver without the high end price tag. They have a winner on their hands. It is still very new and is in fact not even on the Arcam website but I have managed to find a review and here is a quote:
"...the AVR360 had much of its bigger sibling’s winning personality, including a midrange that should be love at first hearing for those of you who care about music. In terms of voicing and resolution, Arcam’s least expensive model sounds better than the top-line models of many competitors. Audiophile values do make a difference." - Home Theater Magazine
Here are some really exciting new products, one of the most interesting is the new Arcam AVR-360 RP $1998. This is an amazing product, I think it is really going to shake up all the japanese brands. It has the same build quality as their recently updated top of the line AVR-600D RRP $7498. It also has all of the features included in the range topping model. Network streaming, video scaling, 7.1 HD Audio, and DAB+ which is unique feature for AV receivers. Best of all though is the sound quality. It has all the qualities of the high end Arcam family at an amazing price. The AVR 360 is available now and we have received our first unit. Click on the images to download a spec sheet.

Arcam actually have a whole raft of new products that will be coming out over the next couple of months. One of which is the new Arcam D33 Super DAC RRP $3498. It uses dual 24bit / 192khz Burr Brown DACs, with user selectable filters. I think the magic of this device though will come from the way it has been designed rather than just the parts it uses. It uses dual toroidal power supplies with mutli stage regulation. I saw this at CES and it is a very impressive piece of kit. The USB input is asynchronus and supports 192khz files. It also has AES/EBU balanced digital input, 2 coax digital and 2 optical inputs. Click on the images to download a spec sheet.

Its been a while since the last update. I have a lot of things to add to the site, I went to the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show and had to opportunity to see and hear some amazing setups ranging from entry point to $500,000+. I will be uploading some photos of the best of the show.

These were the best speakers at the show overall regardless of price. The Sonus Faber Aida, absolutely amazing sound and they were not part of the most expensive system at the show. Price is to be confirmed here in Australia (US $120,000 per pair).

Lots more photos to share over keep an eye on here.
